Former NFL Quarterback Arrested for 2nd DUI Since 2016

Vince Young Again Facing DUI Charges

Vince Young, former NFL quarterback for the Texas Titans and University of Texas standout, was arrested for suspicion on DUI. Young was arrested at 4:31 a.m. in the Missouri City area. Vince Young was then released the same day on $500 bond.

DUI Lawyer In A Court

Young is a former University of Texas Longhorns quarterback, then named the 2006 offensive rookie of the year in his professional football career, and played five seasons with the Titans, one season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In a statement released on Twitter, Young admitted he was pulled over, and apologized for “letting my family, my friends and my fans down.”

“With the help of God and my loved ones, I am going to take aggressive actions to make sure this never happens again,” Young said. “I take full responsibility for my actions.”

Taking full responsibility for his actions, he made a statement on Twitter apologizing for his actions, adding he would take “aggressive” measures to ensure it never happens again.

This is the second drunk driving arrest for Young. Arrested in Fort Bend Count, (outside of Houston) Texas. The first DUI arrest happened in 2016 in Texas. After apologizing to fans and pleading no contest, he served 18 months probation for a sentence. While Young was off of probation from his 2016 arrest, he still will face the penalties of a multiple DUI offender.

At what point does apologizing via social media become not enough? Vince Young has been caught twice since 2016 driving under the influence of alcohol, how many other times has he operated a vehicle illegally under the influence and just not been caught? Should a 2nd DUI charge by a person carry penalties that are more severe?

Facing any type of DUI is serious. Vince Young should seek an expert criminal defense attorney as the possible punishment for being a multi-DUI offender is quite stern. While extended jail time is not probable, Young should face more than just probation that he was given after his 2016 arrest. The former quarterback is very fortunate he wasn’t arrested in Arizona. The DUI laws are some of the toughest in all of the nation in Arizona. Perhaps, Texas and other states should try harsher punishment in an attempt to stop repeat DUI offenders like Young.
